Rationale
With the advent of mass social interaction through digital and online platforms such as social media applications websites and gadgets, such as; Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, to mention but a few, DPI believes that it is upon the public to be vigilant towards security. Consequently, DPI has taken the initiative to create the hashtag #DigitalVigilanteUG
Objective
#DigitalVigilanteUG is a citizen-led intervention manifesting as an unstoppable cyber movement with the intent to curb and cripple the recent upswing in criminal activity in Uganda. #DigitalVigilanteUG thrives in this era of social media through sharing of criminal activity, to help expose these vices and their perpetrators.

Using your smartphone, we encourage you to share any suspicious incidents, individuals, criminal activity, through your social media forums with the hashtag #DigitalVigilanteUG and make sure you tag our legal agencies/authorities (@policeUG, @UmemeLtd, @UNRA_UG, @KCCAUG, @URAuganda …) to bring justice and also to expose where the authorities fall short or fail to act.
